I am most excited about this camp because for me my strongest passion is teaching, and I have always loved providing training and teaching in all forms possible. I have always known that I would want to be an instructor and a trainer, so as soon as I graduated from high school I went to Morven Park in Leesburg, VA to study just that. I couldn't believe that there was a school that was horses and training from 6 am until 6 pm every day! The trainers we got to ride with and the theory we got to discuss was what set me on my path of needing more! Dressage is a journey, you never know everything, and just if or when you think you do, you get a new horse, or a new student, and you realize there is more. After I graduated from Morven Park I went to UNH to study horses and their management as well as more training and teaching. After I graduated from UNH I looked for still more ways to learn. At 23 I opened my own riding academy in Danvers, MA. I leased stalls, and then eventually a farm, and in 1998 my husband and I leased to buy a farm in the Upper Valley of NH. It was there in Enfield that I really found my stride with Jr.s and AA riders alike. We had a fabulous facility for 25 years. We held all sorts of learning opportunities for all sorts of riders. Kids camps in the summer and adult camps in spring and fall, and weekly lessons year round. During that time I continued my own education and added to my certification from Morven Park, and degree from UNH, with first a certification from Jane Savoie's instructor program and then USDF certification, which I hope to bring to the FEI level in the near future. I also followed my passion for learning by becoming an L-Grad with distinction and will eventually follow that path in gaining more qualifications as a Judge.
I have been training horses through out and have brought a couple to the Grand Prix level although my passion lies in the lower levels as well. I love bringing along a horse or a human and feeling or seeing them start to put the pieces together! It is the process, it always works, and the key is to find pieces to the puzzle that is each individual.
I am developing this program of the Adult Camp because although I see youngsters getting this sort of attention, and I see some of the top adult riders getting this, I don't see enough out there for the AA to access enthusiastic and progressive training that has an understanding that this is supposed to be the fun part of their day! Although we are holding camp during the week for lack of better ability to find three days that most adults don't have to be at work, it is important to know that I respect the fact that the majority of AA riders have a full time job and try to get as much horse time as they can working around that job. My hope with this camp is that riders can feel the joy of progressive learning in a safe and concentrated manner.
I have always had a passion for horses. I went to University of Kentucky and during school and after, worked at the racetrack and for an equine vet. At the same time eventing my TB mare drawing from my pony club roots. After college I began my Dressage career and through the years of owning several farms, working for Everglades Arabians and Valhalla Farms Trakehners.
I solidified my passion for riding all sizes, shapes and breeds. I especially love teaching Adult Amateurs and Junior/Young riders and have taken several to NAYC with several gold medals in tow.
But my absolute passion is making someone’s biggest dream come true, whether, it is just learning to ride the perfect circle or getting your medals I’m thrilled to be a part of your journey. I look forward to seeing all your talent shine and your dreams and goals achieved.

I became a Clinical Sport Psychologist to help people perform to their best, tapping mental toughness and emotional fitness as key elements in a training model for high performance. After a decade of sport only, I began working with corporate executives and discovered that the tools for high performance in sport apply directly to the pressures of the business world. For over twenty years, I have worked with professional, Olympic, National Team, collegiate, amateur, and high school athletes on enhancing elements of performance, while the last decade provided an opportunity to work with corporate executives and their team members in numerous industries. Working in both fields has given me not only width, but depth, allowing me to pull from multiple sources and experiences to provide coaching that creates a better performer with skills to communicate, connect, direct, and lead, and all from a place of purpose and relationship. In addition to working with Fortune 500 companies, I was the Olympic Sport Psychologist for the 2012 Equestrian Team, and my 2023 TEDx Talk is titled: “How Your Resilience is Trying to Kill You.”
As a former All-American and National Team swimmer, my belief in coaching is resolute. All top athletes, even world champions, have coaches throughout their career to provide support and perspective. Through a multi-dimensional approach, I provide coaching that combines education, science-based psychology, neuropsychology, physiology, and mindfulness, plus experience and insight to help people not only perform better but feel better and more balanced while doing it. All performance begins within so we will look to work from the inside out to create a stronger, more aware, more capable performer, leader, and most importantly, person. Getting to know the self is a life-long mission and well worth the adventure. As we learn to recognize, identify, and then go to work on the things that get in our way, the path clears, and the results are amazing.
